Overview:
Because of the Immediate Past President’s familiarity
with Chapter and PMI operations, this position fills an
important advisory role for the current President and
board. The Immediate Past President provides coordination
and oversight of special projects as assigned and is an
important liaison with the PMI Executive Office.
Specific responsibilities include chairing the Chapter’s
Nominating Committee and the Chapter’s Long Range
Planning Committee. Chairing of these committees involves
planning and facilitating meetings essential for carrying
out the respective charters of each committee.

Activities performed:
• Assist the President in liaison
with PMI if and when required. • Facilitate
review of the chapter Long Range Plan at Board Transition

o Update the Long Range Plan and distribute to board

• Facilitate a semi-annual review
of the Long Range Plan • Review progress
against current objectives • Update the
Long Range Plan and distribute to board •
Chair the Nominating Committee responsible for preparing
the slate of officers for the succeeding year. |

o Present the Nominating Committee’s proposed
slate of officers to the board for approval
o Present the approved slate of officers at the general
membership meeting prior to the Annual Business Meeting
o Call for any additional nominees at the general
membership meeting prior to the Annual Business Meeting |
• Chair the Chicagoland Chapter’s
Long-Range Planning committee. • Prepare
Chicagoland Chapter Charter Annual Renewal Survey
for submission to the President for approval.
• Notify membership of nominations a minimum
of five (5) days before election. Maintain Chapter
Officer Guidelines. • Provide support to
incoming President with the creation of Administration
budget. • Review the Chapter Officer Guidelines
with incoming board members. • Appoint Directors,
committees, and committee chairs on a project or task
basis, with the approval of the Board. |
