Personal History
Tom has over 25 years of Project Management experience, working mostly as a consultant for various firms. Tom considers himself a result oriented Project Manager with complementary expertise in executive management support, vendor management processes from a client and a customer view point, business processes, personnel development, and IT office construction. He has experience across diverse business situations for start up and established entities, in domestic and international environments, for both government and private sectors. He views as one of his primary strengths to be able to become immediately productive in new technical or business environments. He combines his Project Management expertise with the willingness to learn and mentor.
Tom's experiences span the following industries and applications: telecommunications, options trading, insurance, unemployment government services, consumer loans, pharmaceutical, office space management and construction, and economic modeling. He has also developed and taught IT courses.
Tom's employment responsibilities have enabled him to travel extensively, including living abroad in Sweden and Iran for almost 5 years.
Tom has previously served on the PMI Board for two years as VP of Operations and one year as President. He also has spent time volunteering to assist Project Managers in applying and preparing for the PMP exam.
Tom is currently representing the PMI Chicagoland Chapter, as a participant in the 2008 Leadership Institute Masters Class, which is sponsored by PMI. Classes will run for a year with multiple conference calls, and three face-to-face classes in Stockholm Sweden , Lille France and Marrakesh Morocco .
