The Secretariat Projects Division Manager (SPM) is a member of the senior leadership team within Information Services and is a critical advisor to the Secretariat senior management team. A core responsibility is to oversee and deliver projects that align with the Secretariat’s strategic objectives and business goals.

Our Division Manager, Secretariat Projects position is a regular, full-time position and is located at the Rotary International World Headquarters in Evanston, IL with convenient access to CTA and Metra stations.
 
Responsibilities This position acts as the manager of the Secretariat Project Management Office function and is responsible for ensuring communication of status and objectives for both requested projects and large active projects throughout the organization. The SPM is responsible for assisting with project initiation, communicating and escalating project issues, developing useful reports and metrics related to the program plan, and providing guidance to project managers in regards to Rotary's project management methodology. The Secretariat Projects Division Manager's main objective is to promote efficient and successful project implementations throughout the enterprise.

This position also serves as the first-line of contact for scoping, costing, and planning major enterprise projects, particularly those that are multi-divisional or enterprise-wide. This includes gathering requests, assessing requirements, calculating resource needs across divisions, and proposing project plans and schedules. Moreover, The Secretariat Projects Division Manager is responsible for understanding the relationships and dependencies between projects, validating adherence to the strategic plan and its associated priorities, and determining the impacts associated with a project's undertaking.


 
Qualifications The successful incumbent will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented, and can integrate and manage multiple projects with the ability to link those projects to business initiatives. He/She should be highly motivated, able to work independently, and have proven decision-making and problem solving capabilities. The incumbent will also have a College degree with participation in at least 2 major IS lifecycle development efforts. Experience using structured project methodologies and/or project planning tools as well as knowledge regarding business process redesign and strategic planning. The following experience is desirable but not required; background in Information Technology and working with off shore and global teams.
