Presentation Abstract:
How We Installed an Entire Project Management Infrastructure in a Company
This true story begins about three years ago, when the American Eagle Federal Credit Union, a rapidly growing financial institution in East Hartford, Connecticut, committed to dramatically improve their approach to project management. What followed was the design and installation of an entire project management infrastructure, tailored to meet organizational culture and business requirements.
Virtually every aspect of the project management process was addressed, such as:
Developing procedures for project identification and approval
Selecting the appropriate project management software
Implementing individualized skill-building programs
Developing a project process manual
Installing a modestly-sized PMO
...and many others
The result was a dramatic transformation of the Credit Union's project portfolio -- from a financial liability to a strategic weapon. This presentation chronicles the company's true-life journey, describing many of the problems they overcame and many of the key steps they took to accomplish an amazing and rapid increase in project management maturity.
