Abstract:
PMI asks questions relating to professional and social responsibility in project management. When you pass your exam, in addition to receiving your PMP certificate, PMI sends a copy of the Project Management Professional Code of Professional Conduct for you to review and sign to remind you of your responsibilities to the global community of PMP certificants and the field of project management. This code is based on ethical behavior.
Every day in the news, we are exposed to some story relating to business ethics and its impact on some portion of our population. In today's business world, unethical behavior appears to be the norm and may impact how project managers perform their job and communicate their projects' status. To help you gain a better understanding of this topic, we'll review the current state of business ethics, define what comprises ethics, outline how to create an ethical culture, and provide a perspective of what the future looks like for business ethics.
By attending this session, you'll gain better insight to
- Recognize the cultural elements that tend to breed ethical issues.
- Understand the importance of the words, intellect, and behavior that play a major role in creating and maintaining an ethical attitude.
- See the challenges businesses have today to recruit and retain ethical top performers.
