Abstract:
Leadership is the first of the 5 general management skills described in the PMBOK® Guide. Contrary to some beliefs, leadership is not given. Just because you have been assigned the role of “Project Leader” or “Project Manager” does not mean that you are generally accepted as the leader of the project. Project leadership is not given, it must be earned. Earning the role of project leader is a difficult uphill task. Once earned, it can be more difficult to maintain. Join us as we explore the role and skills of an effective project leader.
