PMI Chicagoland 2010-2011 Strategic Goals

Joanne E. Guennewig, PMP, MPM

President

Before I fill you all in on the Strategic Goals, I wanted to clarify one item. All members of the leadership team, Board Members and Directors, are volunteers. There is only one paid position for the Chapter, our administrative assistant. Anne Clark is the one who responds to the admin emails, general inquiries, receives the mail and answers the Chapter phone. Aside from that we are all Chapter members who volunteer to help manage and run the organization. I have been asked by many members about this so wanted to clarify - we all do our work for the Chapter in addition to our regular paid careers!

PMI Chicagoland 2010-2011 Strategic Goals
I want to take this month's message to communicate more about the Strategic Goals that the Board has defined for the Chapter for the 2010-2011 leadership term. One of my personal goals for the year is to make sure that the Chapter Leadership team clearly communicates what we are planning and how you can participate in building our Chapter. This is the first of several steps in the planning process for which I will be providing details and comments. Once we have the plan in place, you wills start to see project status and metrics reporting each month.

As I mentioned in the last newsletter and at the August Dinner Meeting, the Board met at the end of July and defined the strategic objectives for the Chapter for the current term. The process we are following is similar to one that many of you follow at work and on your projects. Now that we have the Strategic Objectives, the Board Members are working with their Directors and teams to define the projects that will allow us to achieve those goals. We will be posting the projects and volunteer needs to complete those projects very soon, so keep checking the Chapter website under Get Involved for Volunteer Opportunities.
